History Channel: 'History's Greatest Mysteries"

Mysteries, world-building, and Laurence Fishburne? What’s not to love?

This was Roger’s second year of doing the post production on the new season promo for History’s Greatest Mysteries so although it was my first year producing it, it was not our first rodeo. As with the previous season, the client wanted a fully CG environment in which the talent and audience takes a trip through, and sets up the tone for the new season. After creating some boards for client’s approval, we got to work designing the separate worlds, all making sure we were carrying over design elements that the client liked in the previous year’s promo while putting a new twist on it.

While in Production, we ensured the team was working smart. We were repurposing elements that we could from the previous shoot and promo so that more of their time could be spent building out the spot - which required all the time we could get with attention to detail. We kept consistent and clear communication with the client, often reviewing the spot together to talk through any thoughts or changes. Because there were so many moving parts, it was important to keep a very clear and concise record of notes and changes to each shot. The spot was so successful that we were then asked to create another asset from one of the worlds we created!
